Cover Letter Tutor

BenefitsSpelling, grammar, and formatting mistakes are the number one killer of cover letters and resumes. The second is untailored, generic cover letters. But who can blame you? You're probably writing dozens of them in the middle of the night on your fourth cup of coffee. Time's a ticking, you're losing faith, and you just want that one callback.

Well this is for us. Now, it's obviously best to write each cover letter specific for each company you're applying to, but we're human and we occasionally start to slip up.

I had a buddy who copied and pasted the same cover letter changing certain elements, but who forgot to change one mention of a company name that was buried in the middle of a paragraph. And another who forgot to change the date in the header for months. That's an insta-throwaway for any company.

I want to help you easily make as many good cover letters as you need. Here are some of the benefits of this website:

Write content once, never worry about spelling/grammar again
  Eliminate copy/paste mistakes
Add a personal touch by auto-including specific company information
Quickly look up information about the company you're applying to
Easily tailor specific skills based on exactly what's in the job description
Have your letter auto-formatted and put into the correct document type
It's free and will save you time
How to Use
  Enter the company information
Write a short description of each of your skills in your skill bank
Write an opening paragraph template, and a closing paragraph template
Select whatever skills that company mentions in the job description
Click preview. Just like that, there's your first tailored cover letter
Enter the next company information, pick your skills, and make another
About Me I'm an eletrical engineering student with a love of automating anything I do more than three times. This is my first public web application, made July 13, 2014.

I don't consider it a tool to mislead potential employers or anything like that. It's a tool to teach people how to write good cover letters, while balancing making it easy for them and providing good and well-researched content for the employer.

Hey, no pressure at all, but if this tool helped you in someway or even contributed to getting you a job and you want to pay it forward a bit, it'd be pretty cool of you if you bought me a coffee. If not, don't worry about it, thanks a bunch for using my tool!
